Tank
The tank is a 90 gallon long, and contains a mixture of black sand topped with granite and river rock. An artificial log and various plants were used to provide adequate cover. Lifelike bamboo floats at the top of the water column to give the pacus shade, and a bubble screen along the back wall provides additional aeration and water motion.
Filtration
Fluval 404 canister filter
Stand
The tank stand is made of acrylic, copper, and red oak, which was designed and constructed by myself (an up and coming civil engineer!). The lighting is enclosed in a counter balanced, sealed ball bearing canopy, requiring less than 1 ounce to open. Below the tank lies a 2 sf drawer lined with marble. All hardware used in construction is corrosion resistant (ie. stainless, zinc)
