Nutridiet comes in a spiffy catfood-style can with a resealable lid, and offers the following foods (all wet-packed): river shrimp, fish eggs, mealworms, waxworms, fly larvae, and a betta food mixture. Most of these make a great staple for freshwater carnivores (cichlids especially), and one will definitely stand out to the reef hobbyist: the fish eggs.
The fish eggs are perfect for feeding coral and reef-safe fish! At a tad under 1mm in size, they're accepted by LPS and several other corals, and small mouthed fish such as clownfish, small wrasses, dottybacks, gobies go nuts for them. The fish in one of my holding tanks went so crazy I wanted to get a video, but my camera is floating around in the Florida Keys now...long story :(. I'm hoping they'll make good mandarin food, I'll keep everyone posted. Regardless, NutriDiet fish eggs are going to find their way into my saltwater and reef aquariums regularly, from now on!
Another NutriDiet food I really liked were the river shrimp. As freshwater shrimp they're an excellent food for freshwater carnivores such as cichlids, small arowanas, puffers, and anything else that likes meat. They're also great "a few times a week" food for saltwater carnivores: my puffer and moray eels eat them by the handful. Here are a few pics:
NutriDiet river shrimp: yum.
And finally, the nutrition information:
All in all, I'm (once again) impressed with this latest Seachem product line, and highly recommend NutriDiet foods as a regular source of nutrition for your aquarium inhabitants.
Pros: High quality, wet-packed, convenient, wide variety of meaty freshwater foodstuffs
Cons: Packaged in China, no saltwater-occurring foodstuffs
Captive Aquatics Verdict: Excellent
